The Longest Day Adventure Race
The Longest Day Adventure Race (a 24-hour race) will take place somewhere in an undisclosed location in rocky and intricate terrain of Western Connecticut! Teams of 2-4 can expect to mountain bike, trek and paddle through a linear modified rogaine course which is being designed for teams of all abilities. This year, all paddling through the race will be on packrafts on flatwater—which means racers will have to carry the packrafts with them through the course!
Past Event: Shenandoah Epic (2022)
In 2022, we will be returning to the Shenandoah Epic, a hard-core adventure race in which our three-person team had 24 hours to cover up to 100 miles of the beautiful, rugged Shenandoah Valley. Navigating with only a map and compass on an unmarked course, we will plan to tackle 30-40 miles of trekking, 14 miles of paddling on the Shenandoah River, and about 40-50 miles of mountain biking on trails. Compared to last year’s course (at a different location), this one is promises to be heavier on the trek sections with some advanced navigation, including a mix of Rogaine and traditional Orienteering course styles.
Past Event: Seven Bends - Frozen Foot 12-Hour Challenge
The Seven Bends - Frozen Foot Challenge is an incredible Intermediate- to Advanced-level adventure race requiring teams to run, bike, paddle, and navigate their way around and explore the Shenandoah Valley and Seven Bends State Park. Race organizers provide a map and some basic rules to follow, and racers will then set out on an adventure to get checkpoints by hiking, biking and paddling. The team with the most points in the allotted 12-hour time will win!
In case you were wondering, YES! That’s Team Tikee featured in the race organizers’ promotional materials.
Past Event: Bryce Conquer the Mountain
In our second ever race, we finished 2nd place (co-ed) and 11th overall, and raised over $3,800 for Mamatoto Village. Bryce Conquer the Mountain was an advanced-level adventure race, requiring us to run, bike, paddle, and navigate their way through approximately 100 miles of terrain in and around the Shenandoah Valley.
Past Event: Shenandoah Epic (2021)
Our first ever race was the Shenandoah Epic, a hard-core adventure race in which our three-person team had 24 hours to cover up to 100 miles of the beautiful, rugged Shenandoah Valley. We picked up checkpoints along the way and navigated with just a map and compass. The race included 25-35 miles of trekking by foot, 17 miles of paddling on the Shenandoah River, and 50-60 miles of mountain biking on amazing trails. We started at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday and finish a little bit after 8:00 a.m. the next morning.
